The day of your colonoscopy, have only clear liquids. |

Do not take Aspirin, NSAID's or Coumadin for 4
days after the procedure. Wait 7 days to take Plavix. |

The day after your colonoscopy, you should stay
on soft foods, i.e., scrambled eggs, pudding, toast, mashed
potatoes, etc. The next day your diet may include anything,
unless you had a biopsy or a polypectomy. If you had a biopsy
or a polypectomy, do not eat any popcorn, corn, nuts, or seeds
(such as in tomatoes, sesame, etc.) for two weeks. For patients
who have Diverticulosis, you should always avoid the aforementioned
foods. |

DO eat a high fiber diet. |

| 5. |
Your abdomen may be bloated for the day. This
should go down in a day or so. You should not have any real
discomfort. If you do have swelling or tenderness for more than
one day after your colonoscopy, please notify your doctor. |

Follow-up check-ups are very important. We will
let you know when you should return to the office for your next
appointment. If you are not sure what your doctor has told you,
then please call the office.
