Most insurance companies require notification (pre-certification)
of admission to the hospital for inpatient or outpatient treatment.
If you are unsure about your policy or referral requirements, please
contact your insurance company or benefits manager. We want to remind
our patients that it is their responsibility to determine if we
are covered by your insurance provider. Most insurance companies
will reduce the payment to the hospital and doctor if these requirements
are not met. This in turn will make the patient's financial responsibility
much greater.
If insurance does not approve a recommended
test, you are able to have the test performed at your personal expense.
