| After finishing his medical education, Dr. Wu completed four years of general surgery training in China before coming to the U.S. to pursue research experience in 1997. He conducted six years of research in transplantation immunology and was a senior research investigator at the University of Pennsylvania before he underwent five years of General Surgery training in Saint Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore, MD. He then completed one year of Colon and Rectal surgery fellowship at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, PA. During his general surgery residency and colon and rectal surgery fellowship, Dr. Wu had extensive laparoscopic training in colon and rectal surgery with two additional advanced laparoscopic colon resection courses. His primary focus is minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery, screening colonoscopy for colon cancer, and any disorders involving the anus, rectum, and colon. He is Board Certified in General Surgery and is Board eligible in Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Wu joined our practice in August, 2009.
